8/9 Henrietta Street
8/9, Henrietta Street form part of what is considered one of the finest Georgian streets in Ireland and are Protected Structures listed by Dublin City Council.
The buildings were occupied by St, Vincent’s Trust, who are a community organisation of the Daughters of Charity providing education, training, childcare and personal support services for adults, youth and children from the local communities in the north inner city area of Dublin.
St. Vincent’s Trust felt they required to alter and extend the accommodation in order to meet their needs and commissioned CCH to examine feasibilities prepared by an Engineer.
CCH identified certain activities that should not be accommodated within the existing buildings, as it would cause irreparable damage to structure and suggested that these activities be accommodated in a new separate three storey at the rear of the property.
This allowed the existing structures to be restored and adapted to uses more compatible with these historic buildings.
